What is Brain Based Care?

I often get this question when first speaking to potential clients.

The simple answer is it involves looking at the body through a neurological lens when assessing/treating an injury, movement dysfunction or performance related issue.

It’s important to understand that the human nervous system is responsible for 3 main things.

1. Receives information from your internal and external environment using a wide variety of senses (vision, vestibular, proprioception, sensation etc)

2. The nervous system interprets those signals and decides what to do with them.

3. Creates a motor output based off the decision that was made.

Sometimes the information your brain is receiving is not “good” information and can result in outputs of pain, immobility, stiffness, weakness etc.

At KinetX PT we address these “poor” inputs utilizing specific neurologically derived techniques to create better outputs, hence helping you to move better, feel better and perform better.
